When we first imagined our Leonardo Masterworks | Bog Oak Vault three years ago… we knew we wanted something truly extraordinary, one-of-a-kind, and genuinely precious.
With our “unearthing” of ancient bog oak and the simultaneous discovery of our exceptional European boxmaker, we can now offer you a case worthy of your Gold Stage and Silver Stage treasures.
We are pleased to present to you, our two thousand years old... yetbrand new… Bog Oak Vault!
Our exceedingly rare Bog Oak Vault is handmade in Europe. The Leonardo inspired hexagonal case is precision made throughout. A 24K gold plated bronzed steel Battle Horse is artfully embedded into the top, and serves as a handle. Inside, your wooden vault has a custom insert to hold your signed and numbered Leonardo Masterworks | Studio Limited Edition pair. The vault is hand sanded and finished with six coats of oil!

Certainly. Bogwood is a material from trees that have been buried in peat bogs and preserved from decay by the bog conditions, sometimes for hundreds or even thousands of years. Bog-wood represents an early stage in the fossilisation of wood.
Oak trees are very rich in tannic acid. Tannins are well known for their powers of preservation. Tannins have the ability to mummify organic matter in high concentrations. Oaks that fell into a bog had a tendency to be preserved in the tannin-rich waters. Bog oak darkens over the millennia, slowly turning from golden brown wood into a lustrous, ebony-black color, that is also extremely hard and dense.
It is a rare form of timber that is comparable to some of the world's most expensive tropical hardwoods.

As we wrote in our last update - your MERLIN • Illuminations rewards are all in full production and will be delivered as scheduled in January 2020.
And we have some wonderful news for our fellow playing card enthusiasts.
We got the full go-ahead from Kickstarter to present our newest playing card project now, based on the prior on-time fulfillment of all our previous campaigns.
This helps us continue our ongoing development of our sustainable family owned playing card business.

Leonardo Masterworks features our most exquisite playing cards, encased in our Studio Limited Edition metal and paper tuck!

Dear Backers!
Just a quick note to let you all know that all the rewards for MERLIN • Illuminations are on schedule for January delivery as promised in the campaign.
Playing cardsand Uncut Sheets - contract signed with USPCC, heading into production.
Medallions - contract signed with foundry, heading into production.
Fine Art Prints - all the Art is ready for printing, and will be printed in December.
Millennium CasesandCollector’s Cases - all ready for routing the Medallion "nests" into the front of the cases!
So everything will be at our fulfilment center in the States in January and begin shipping out then to all our backers worldwide. You can expect to receive your rewards in January (or early February due to the holiday season) depending on your distance from Texas. Some special items will be send direct from our studios in Switzerland.
